We would like to thank the Folsom Rotary Club for their generosity and support by donating $1,100 in helping the Folsom Police K9 Unit get two of their K9 partner’s narcotic detector certified. K9 Officer’s Nathan Ventioner and Todd Laraway attended the Rotary Club’s meeting at the Lew Howard Park where Folsom Rotary Club President Ray Klug presented the check. I am happy to report that K9 Ramon and K9 Paska completed their training and as on September 11th both passed certification.

The Folsom Police K9 Unit Welcomes K9 Ramon…

Thursday, September 17 2009

In March 2009, after the retirement of K9 Jerry, we welcomed K9 Ramon to the Folsom Police K9 Unit. Ramon is a three year old German Shepherd that came to us from Kreative Kennels in Turlock, CA. Ramon is an incredibly good natured dog, as well as being very social. Ramon has quickly become a part of our family.

Folsom Police K9 Unit Needs Your Help

Thursday, July 16 2009

The Folsom Police K9 Unit needs your assistance with much needed training locations. As a matter of conducting productive weekly training we are always looking for new areas, structures and scenarios to use in our training.  If you have an office building, vacant residence or other type of structure/property that would be available for K9 training please visit our training site page and complete the contact information form.  One of our K9 handlers will contact you regarding your training site.   We would hope that the presence of the Folsom Police Canine Unit would reduce the amount of criminal activity occurring at your location. Our training hours are from 10:00 PM to 2:00 AM, every Wednesday night.  This time of day makes it very difficult to find locations to properly train our canine partners. We look forward to hearing from you.

K9 Officer Nathan Ventioner
